When Holly moved to Louisiana to attend Louisiana State University, what she missed most was writing on a regular basis. During her first semester, she wrote features for the LSU yearbook, the Gumbo. However, she longed for something face-paced, so she dropped off her portfolio at the student newspaper office. They gave her a trial run—write one story to impress. The next day, she met and interviewed comedian, now politician, Al Franken.
For the next year, Holly would write entertainment stories ranging from radio DJs and local bands to movie reviews and campus events. She even interviewed Courtney Love's private investigator on the 10-year Anniversary of Kurt Cobain's death. Entertainment and pop culture will always hold a place in Holly's writing career.
